Here we go again. An afraIT Shorty! What’s it about?

You want to create a custom new / display or edit form? No problem. Just follow these four easy Steps.

1. Go to the list where you want the new custom form and edit the form in SharePoint Designer.

Then create a new form (1), give it a name (2), select which kind of form (3), option to set it als default (4) and click ok (5).

Then open the newly created custom form in advanced mode (right click on the new form):

In my environment it is line 24 where you can edit / change the width of the form.
But there are also a bunch of other options you can change or edit.

For example you can hide a specific dolumn in the the display form for your users. So you can see and edit it in the edit form but not in the display form.

Hope it helped a little bit to get a more customized SharePint form. Of course if you have the option to use Infopath, which is an SharePoint Enterprise Feature you can do much more in less time!
As always, don’t be afraIT to like it, share it & comment it.

There is an extension or part 2 if you like to check that out.
