Halloween season is the spooky & scary season. In the tech-world viruses, ransomware, trojan horses, spyware, and other types of malware are the things that scare us from time to time. To be less “afraIT” and to protect us against such attacks there are multiple solutions on the market. Companies like Trend Micro, CrowdStrike, McAfee, Sophos, or Symantec offer great solutions.

Preamble

Yet, the most complete solution is the offering by Microsoft. I’m not paid to say that and I’m always honest about the things I say or write (just listen to my podcast), but to me, the deep integration with Windows, Microsoft 365, and management capabilities are one of a kind. So if you are using some of those components, Microsoft 365 Defender is the best choice in my opinion.

As Microsoft likes to rename things the jungle gets thicker and thicker. The name is what? This product is part of this or that? I know that feeling and that was the reason why I created an overview poster called The New Defender, but I didn’t stop there because as mentioned, I’m confident that with Microsoft 365 Defender many companies can achieve more. 😀 And yeah, I know, this really sounds like a Microsoft Marketing speech. It’s not. I promise. 🙂 Now, the reason you’re visiting, below you find my Halloween edition in German & English trying to offer a way through the jungle and understand Microsoft 365 defender better.

In case you are more into XDR and SIEM and you’re wondering what the differences are, what it is, who is it for, and overall get a better understanding of those two… I created a new infographic in German & English for that. Check it here (XDR versus SIEM).
